As part of the University of Jordan's ongoing efforts towards digital transformation and automation, the Information Technology Center, in cooperation with the Secretariat of the Councils and the Human Resources Department, launched a new system to manage faculty members' leaves through the Secretariat of the Councils' portal.
The electronic system allows for easy and convenient application for all types of leaves (unpaid leave, scientific sabbatical, and scientific leave), which enhances the efficiency and speed of procedures. The leave request is submitted electronically by the faculty member, to be subsequently approved through successive stages that include the academic department, the college, and the appointment and promotion committee, until the decision of the Council of Deans is uploaded to the system.
The center also issues the final decision using QR-Code technology, which eliminates the need for traditional signatures and contributes to saving time and effort.
The launch of this system comes within the strategy of the University of Jordan to enhance its vision and mission in providing integrated electronic services, which supports faculty members in various fields, and is added to the group of computerized services that include promotion, tenure, and transfer between academic categories.
